June Recap: Where do we go from here?
One of my most popular episodes in the last year revolved around planning for 2020. Although the action items I talked about are still applicable for the most part, I don’t think any of us could have predicted what this year had in store. From COVID-19 to racial injustices being brought to light, 2020 has been a challenging year for many entrepreneurs and it’s going to take some time for businesses to recover.
From an eCommerce perspective, there has been a significant shift to online shopping, especially with brick-and-mortar stores still closed or slowly reopening. Now, you have to be constantly raising the bar for your eCommerce site to stand out among all the existing and new competitors.
In addition, this past month has made it essential to use your business as a force for good. If you’re a business that is dependent on social media, you can’t - and shouldn’t - act like there’s nothing going on.
On this week’s episode, I’m talking about what has happened in the past month and how we, as small business founders, can be proactive in protecting our businesses and being strong allies in the Black Lives Matter movement.
Remember that there are highs and lows in entrepreneurship, and these past few months have definitely been on the low side for many founders. But look at what you and your business have already survived. There’s a lot more work to do, but you can do it.
